Kinos Axiom Total Ankle System

Revolutionizing total ankle arthroplasty through evidence-based engineering

Axiom is the first Biomechanically accurate implant in that it provides the same motion as required by a healthy ankle joint during gait - plantar/dorsiflexion, internal/external rotation and inversion/eversion. This is achieved with the novel saddle-shaped articulating surface. The saddle design is shown to reduce the stress on the articulating surfaces, reduce point/edge loading. and reduce the stress at the bone-implant interface. The saddle design provides enhanced joint stability, reducing the work required by the ligaments to stabilize the joint. The independent inversion/eversion range of motion plays a magnified role when a patient is walking on uneven terrain. The implant-to-bone fixation features provide significantly more stability, facilitating in bone on & in-growth.
